We did everything ourselves except the cake, the BBQ dinner, and the bridal bouquet. Our oldest daughter is getting married in May so I am starting all over again. It brought to mind the invitations we made for Kelly's wedding - 250 of them!! I'm sharing pictures of them now, and will post a tutorial in the near future. By the way, can you guess what her favorite color is?? Hope you like them!!

ReplyDeleteHi Michelle,
DeleteI'm sorry I haven't replied before now, and I hope it's not too late. I haven't been blogging much as you can see. You can email me at thishomeplate@gmail.com if you are still interested.
Thanks!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI am getting married shortly and we have a really tight budget. I love these invites. How can I make them ?
You can email me at thishomeplate@gmail.com and I can send you some more specifics. I hope to write a tutorial for how I made these in the future. In the meantime, here is a link to the book where I found my inspiration. If you click on the picture of the book (look inside), they actually have some of the instruction pages for you to look at (pg. 36, 37, 38, 39 and 41): http://www.amazon.com/DIY-Bride-Projects-One---Kind/dp/1561589640/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1379095808&sr=1-1&keywords=the+diy+bride
DeleteThis gives you an idea of the size, and layout of the cardstock. I DID NOT cover the cardstock with silk like the book suggests. :)
I used Martha Stewart snowflake punches and assorted snowflake stamps and embossing cards to add details.I bought the cardstock at Hobby Lobby when it was on sale for 50% off, usually happens once every 3 weeks. I also had to special order envelopes online, and right now I can't remember the company.
Hope this helps. Hope you have a wonderful wedding and a blessed life together!
